Michal Obešlo was the decisive player in the first play-off finale in the Extraliga in the Czech Republic (only in english)
Our new signing Michal Obeslo has one hand on the cup after being the decisive player in the first finale in ”Extraliga” in the Czech Republic.
Extraliga is packed with incredible players and after having watched a lot of czech table tennis the last year or so, because of Tomas Koldas and Radim Bako being on our books, and some scouting of course, I can safely say that Extraliga is even stronger than the best league in Sweden.
Obeslo is the in-form player in the Czech Republic, and has been so for more than 6 months after he won the prestigious TTStar Best 8 Tournament towards the end of 2021.
In the first finale in Extraliga, Ostrav HB with Obeslo, Tregler and Procopcov defeated SKST Cheb with the current czech champion in mens single David Reitspies with 3-2.
In the difficult away match Obeslo defeated Reitspies 3-1 and Gavlas 3-0, and as the veteran Procopcov also won a game, it didn’t do too much harm that the highest ranked player Tomas Tregler was defeated by Reitspies and Gavlas.
Michal Obeslo has now by my count won an incredible total of 29 games out of 30 in Extraliga since mid-december, including a perfect score in the quarter finals, semi finals and the first finale.
We have high expectations for Michal, and I want to thank our unofficial club ambassadors Tomas Koldas and Radim Bako for representing Næstved Bordtennis in the best possible way, and therefore making this deal possible.
