Næstved Bordtennis’ nye topspiller Evgenij Prischepa viste lovende takter ved EM (in danish and english).
Our new top player Evgenij Prischepa showed great promise at the European Teams Championships.
One of the overall favorites France were a difficult first encounter, but at 0-2 down our new top player from Ukraiine Evgenij Prischepa defeated Can Akkuzu, whose current World ranking is 48.
Next game for the Ukraine player was against Croatia, and the former top 100 player Zsolt Peto also had to declare defeat against the Næstved player.
Evgenij’s third and final game was against the german legend and former World number 1, Timo Boll. With 20 european championships in single, double and team, medals at the olympics and world championships, the german has legendary status. Timo Boll managed to win 11-9 11-8 and 11-8. There wasn’t much between the two top players, but a few good serves at important times and a bit of luck changed the fortune to the german.
All in all a very encouraging performance by Prischepa, and we are all looking forward to see him in action.
